Day 4

I'm behind already. Here are my pictures from yesterday - I couldn't decide which one I preferred so I picked two. My daughter was working so hard on a map of Hungary for a school project. She had a lamp next to her on the table and it gave such a nice soft glow.

My photography goal for right now is to learn to be more consistent in getting the focus right - I always try but the pictures are rarely focused where I intend them to be - especially when I use my 50mm lens. Any advice?

  1. No advice, but clue me in when you find out! These are really gorgeous photos. I love the light in them and your angles.

  2. The lighting is perfect. I'm sure during this year we're all going to learn so much more about our cameras and taking pictures.

  4. These are beautiful photos Kristi - and you're right about the light, it's very soft and glowing. I have no advice about the focus, whenever I take the autofocus off, EVERYTHING is off!!

  5. Gorgeous lighting...especially on that top photo! And the angle of the second photo...love that shot! No advice from here...I'm hoping to get half that good with 365 days of practice!

  6. I'm with all of the them -- just getting 365 photos will be enough -- getting GOOD shots will be gravy! These are beautiful, a sort of old fashioned quality to them.

  9. I think your photos are always amazing especially compaired to mine. The softness you captured with the light is something I can't see when I'm taking a photo, that is something I plan to work on.

It is great to see a photo of a child looking like they are enjoying their homework too, most of the time my kids looked like they were going to either get sick or hurt someone when they were little working on homework.

  10. Love the lighting in these pics. I'm using this project as a way to improve my photography too. I wish I had a focus tip for you - the only thing that I've found is the focus is better when there's more light, it seems softer when there's less.
