Sure it's just a picture of Polly Pocket shoes but to me it says so much and makes me laugh about so many things. First it exhibits how compulsively organized I can be. We have a huge bin of Polly Pockets but whenever the girls dump them out I go and collect all the little shoes and put them in a special little bag. Not sure it is compulsion or aversion to the kids whining for help finding the matching shoe. It also exhibits that I have a problem with time management that I would take the time to line up, pair up, and stand up all these little shoes. It show how ridiculously many Pollys we have. And it show how insanely sentimental I can be about objects. The single blue lace up shoe came with the first set we ever had. I bought as a first day of preschool present for Alison when she was three - it was a teacher Polly. I remember the silly shoe even thought that was 5 1/2 years ago. :) The little orange roller skate was on a Polly we took on the plane ride to Hawaii when Maya was 18 months. She was so obsessed with the Polly and the skates that she constantly had to know where it was. On the plane she fell asleep holding it tight. I couldn't sleep because I kept waking up worried that one of the skates had fallen off - ha ha ha. So not just a pile of shoes. :)
This is the view from my bed when I wake up in the morning. I really love the beautiful red glow on the trees. :)
I love these little chairs. Love love love. I bought them at TJ Maxx a few years ago. I don't splurge on much but these I couldn't pass up. The character in the middle is xi, which means happiness. Love them!
Your photos are terrific, Kristi!!! wow! those chairs are soo awesome and I'm the same way about the girls' toys (though I'm finding less and less time to match up tiny shoes! LOL!)
ReplyDeleteLove all your photos .. and I find myself sorting shoes too...so funny! For us it's My Little Pony.. Lizzie has every pony ever made I think.. and I can tell you when she got them.. and the little Disney Princess outfits for them from the Toy Box at Downtown Disney! I sort it all out and put all the little pieces where they go! With Katie it's Barbie shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove those chairs..and wow, what a view.. our trees are just brown, even with the sun.. I can't wait for spring green!
Oh, I love those chairs too - really cool!! And the collection of shoes, they are fun to keep when there are so many memories attached to them!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your view - WOW!!! I wouldn't mind waking up to this every morning!!
Love the shoe picture. Thank the Lord my kids didn't get into Polly pockets, I'm tripping over 10,000 horse instead! The colors of the chairs are awesome. I would buy those in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteWow, such beautiful photos of ordinary things! The chairs are way too cool!! I'd have a hard time passing up something like that too.
ReplyDeleteWe have avoided Polly at our house, don't know how.
